I just had a wonderful thought of Link from The Legend of Zelda singing 'The Night is Young' form Robin Hood: Men in Tights to Zelda... then I realised that Link actually wears tights. So now my brain imagines Link singing 'We're Men in Tights'.
Urgh...

"We're men,
We're men in tights,
We roam around the forest looking for fights!
We may look like sissies,
but watch what you say or else we'll put your lights!"

... It's a nightmare vision but sickly amusing.

Oh, yeah, in correspondence to my last post about Kenny's geographical knowledge of the UK in the dub I remembered that it gets worse when he mentions that Johnny's of the world famous McGregor clan from the High Lands... er, excuse me but I believe Johnny is from Glasgow and Glasgow is way too South to be in the High Lands. It's not short hand for all of Scotland. Damn you, Kenny.

I suppose I should point out that I, Bijou-chan, am apart of the McGregor clan myself (not a direct descendant like Johnny is, though).

In the episode where the boys arrive in Southampton in season 1, Ray asks where the White Cliffs of Dover he's heard about. Kenny replies that they pasted them during the night.... HOW?! They came on the ship from America to the south of England. Dover is on the East coast, so unless they sailed all the way round Scotland they can't have pasted Dover!

Beyblades

I love the series for the characters. That's it. I know Beyblades are important for the series but in my mind a good story is made with good characters. I deem it a good story if I'm infatuated with a character or fancy one. Beyblade as well as Karin and Pokemon fit into both catagories.
I realise without the Beyblades the series has no storyline for characters to emerge from but I'm lost to the point of the technical side of them. I know what they do, about the main structure, BitBeasts, the game's rules, blading styles... but don't confuse me with the in depth bits!
This may explain why Kira Kira has no in depth Beyblade content. Venus G isn't a blade which is well known like Takao's etc, but then again I could just ASSUME like I always do. FYI, Kira Kira is a CHARACTER shrine thus its content is about the character.

Pairings

I reckon Beyblade should have pairing names like Pokemon does. You know, like 'Rocketshipping' (JessiexJames) and 'Pokeshipping' (AshxMisty). It'd be fun and creative! ... actually... I retract what I've just said. the '__shipping' pairing name format is apart of Pokemon fandom. It'd be wrong to spread the idea!
I stand by the creativeness of the names but each anime and manga should remain with it's own fandom.

I must recommend watching Tom & Jerry to you. I recently re-watched my VHS of my bumper collection and relived some memories of my childhood. I don't like slap stick comedy much but I've found myself laughing at it.
I've picked up on one thing I never did as a child. And that was the music. The classic T&J theme, the musical pieces in 'T&J in the Hollywood Bowl' and 'The Cat Concerto'. It's just amazing and genius.

Metal Fight Beyblade

I was happy to read that a new series of Beyblade was due to release but after seeing that the characters are different I became disconcerted. I mentioned that it's upsetting that Makoto, Gou and Rin aren't the new main characters but I was told that it's a different series because Metal Fight has 'Beyblade' behind their season title while the others have 'Beyblade' before them.... eh? Ojamajo Doremi's 3rd season has 'Ojamajo Doremi' AFTER the season name unlike the rest of it's seasons. So what?
I really wish the next generation was in Metal Fight. Everyone was wanting and expecting it. True the anime and manga is a spin off the the original since Aoki-san isn't drawing the manga. Thus his character's wont be carried on. Still, I really want to learn more of Takao's, Kai's and Rei's children.

Stereotypes

Beyblade has characters from many different ethnicities. So the poor souls are stuck with stereotypical personalities. Aoki Takao and co. have portrayed the characters - I think - unfairly. For instance the Majestics are all Europeans to it's tantamount for them to be snotty rich kids. The All Stars - though not obese tourists as the British think - are jocks. The Blitzkerig Boys aren't Russian stereotyped at all and nor are the Japanese characters (the reason for that being because Aoki is Japanese himself).
I always thought it bothering that some characters have no obvious ethnicity, however most of these characters are so bland it obvious to the point that they're Japanese.

Mao's Body

Looks like Rei likes his girls with an hour glass figure. I was watching the show and noticed Mao has the larges breasts of the BeyGirls (of the children, exclude the adults). And the largest hips, and barley any waist! When I say that I mean the size, not with. It' like she has no waist at all. I reckon this has something to do with her clothes. The animator has drawn the clothes on her which forced him/her to draw her body to incorporate it.

Beyblade OST

Oh, wow. I was looking at the tracklisting of the Beyblade soundtracks. The English version of V-Force has an amazing tracklist. Year 3000 by Busted is on it! If you don't know, Busted are an English rock/pop band who disbanded ages ago and I'm still a fan of theirs.
Just WOW! It's sooo cool to see them on the Beyblade OST.

Beyblade Toys

Why, oh, why, don't they make character figures? Beyblade is a game and thus Takara Inc. and Hasbro will make the toys for the game. That's like making role play toys (like wands, transformation instruments etc), so why not make figures? I'd love to have a little Ming Ming and my other favourite characters on my shelf. Oh, the fun I could have playing with them. The only figures that have existed is the ones Burger King had, and they were all-one-colour, semi-transparent plastic things. Plus they only had Takao, Kai, Rei and Mao. I didn't like that either. Mao is there for the girls but still - where's Max?!
All I want is a vinal figure... or a posable figure... or a doll... or a plush of Ming Ming. I can tell you all want one of your favourite character. If they go as far as making life-size Kais I'll know this wish is wrong but if they can do it for other series then they can do it for Beyblade.

Birthdays and Horoscopes

Oh, Dear God. I really wish Aoki-san would give the characters official birthdays. Isn't it annoying that fans have all different assumptions for them? Fair enough; many of them are based fairly on Horoscopes and personality, but seriously! Absolute Anime had had SO many assumptions, but the thing is - unless the owners of Beyblade have official stated their birthdays no were can say their birthday - plus it's futile to wait. They're old characters and the seasons they are in has finished so I doubt we'll ever know.
Assume by any means. I've done it with Ming Ming. There must be a way around all of this...

Kai Fans

I'm not saying I don't like Kai, but I just feel his popularity is out of hand. Fan girls of Beyblade are MAJORLY obsessed with Kai - as well as other characters but are mainly Rei and the rest of the Blitzkerig Boys. To be honest, this annoys me. Like I stated in the Ming Ming shrine Kai has WAY too many shrines and tributes. Other characters are liable to have one or more but Kai fans stop at nothing. A suitable analogy would be the many fashion clothes shops and card shops in the arndale near me - shrines like Kira Kira are the rarity and relief like when a different shop opens there.
Okay, I say 'relief'... they're aren't many Ming Ming fans - instead she's hated - but like I said I'm aiming this to be a good shrine and website and not just to parade my Ming Ming fandom.
Like Kai; I don't mind because I like him. I hate no character. I'm just saying to be open minded and cut down on the Kai Fan Girl Obsession Drugs.

Ming Ming the Panda

I was listening to an English comedian called Phil Jupitus, and he was talking about how other countries will swap their native animals for ours in zoos. So, Dave the Badger is swapped for Ming Ming the panda... I'm sorry but that was hilarious XD
